Same Dog; New Site

The blog has moved!
Which surely doesn’t seem like that means a whole lot since it’s been about 2 years since my last update, but it has changed none-the-less, and I felt that deserved an update!
This seemingly simple and innocent change was necessitated after the Squarespace purchase of Google Domains registrations prompted me to transfer the enki.dog registrar elsewhere. Given that the original blog of Enki the Dog was hosted on Blogger via Google’s own Domains’ integration, I expected that it would also be wise to port the site’s hosting as well.

Everything is good. Enki is still best boy. I’m terrible at updating media in any form, but here’s a picture of the dog.

The Adventures of Enki the Dog and the Infamous Cone of Shame

Yup. Not too long ago, that was what Enki looked like for an entire week!
Somehow he broke the dewclaw on his left paw completely in half (vertically, not just the tip). I took him to the vet for them to patch it up, and they found hot at the top of his front-right leg. The whole ordeal required him to be on painkillers, antibiotics, and wear the cone for seven (well, eight because he wouldn’t stop licking himself on the seventh) whole days.

I had this great idea that I would buy a kickball for my dog and I to play with.
Well that didn’t last very long.

Today's Theme: Sticks and Cover Letters

…No balls today. Just sticks!
That’s a smile, folks, I promise. He stopped chasing the tennis balls to pick up this stick and parade it around like a trophy. Such a proud moment for him.
But enough about that.
Today I decided to write a small, organizational framework for writing Cover Letters in LaTeX. The project, blandly named “cover-letter-framework,” can be found on my github page, here. The goal of the project is to allow the generation of customized cover letters through the use of templates and configuration files.

Hey you.
Yeah you!
I think it’s finally spring.
We should play. Just sayin'.

I wanted to throw tennis balls around all day, but Enki had a better idea.
Instead of returning the ball to me, he found a stick. Not just any stick though. This stick was awesome. It was a log.
At least he tired himself out after running circles around me.

This is Enki the Dog.
Named for the Sumerian god of water and mischief (among other things), he has four modes of operation: play, hungry, asleep, and play. As you can imagine, his favorite thing to do in the world is play. Want to be his friend? Play. Not sure if he’ll like you when you meet him? Play. Don’t have a toy? Grab a stick! This dog loves sticks! Just be sure to play.

Initial commit. Woof woof.
From the Readers Dear Enki the Dog, I seem to have acquired a nasty habit of eating cat poop. I can’t seem to stop and it is ruining my life. What should I do? Signed, Potty Mouth Pooch
Dear Potty Mouth Pooch,
Cat poop is nothing more than nature’s Tootsie Rolls! If we weren’t supposed to eat them, then why did the universe make them so delicious?
